Our expert standard

What we mean by an expert, and how we keep reports independent.

Short, public and the same for everyone on our panel, in every office.

Version [1.0] · Last reviewed [Date]

  1. Who qualifies

At least [15] years of practical experience, tribunal or negotiation exposure, and contract knowledge in FIDIC or NEC.

  2. Duty to the tribunal

An expert report states the truth as the expert sees it. Our duty is to the tribunal, not the instructing party.

  3. Review before issue

Every report is reviewed by a second senior expert. Methods, assumptions and data sources are stated.

  4. Conflicts

Checked before any matter is accepted. Where we advise a party, we do not act as independent expert on the same dispute. [Rule to be confirmed with legal adviser.]

  5. Confidentiality

Parties, tribunals and findings stay confidential. We publish only outcomes the client has cleared.

  6. What we do not do

No contingency fees on expert work [to be confirmed]. No advocacy presented as expert opinion.
